Our Firm
Philip A. Davolos, III, Esq., is the firm’s founding member. Phil began practicing law in 2008, and for nearly two decades Phil has worked tirelessly for his clients on their most important matters. Prior to founding Davolos Law Group, Phil worked first as a plaintiff’s lawyer pursuing recoveries in multimillion-dollar matters. Phil also spent nearly a decade at a large law firm as an insurance defense lawyer and commercial litigator. Phil has extensive experience representing businesses, financial institutions, and individuals in complex civil litigation in federal and state courts. It’s with that focused insight from a well-rounded and diverse background that Phil continues to build and grow Davolos Law Group with solid successes for his clients.

– D’Onofrio v. Borough of Seaside Park, et al, No.: 3:09-cv-06220 (United States District Court for the District of New Jersey).
Attorney Davolos obtained a $2.5 million settlement on behalf of plaintiff/business owner in a complex federal civil R.I.C.O. and civil rights suit brought against over fifty (50) defendants. This case changed the way the Jersey Shore is policed and eliminated the punitive use of land use regulation and construction code enforcement by local municipalities.

– Berman v. General Electric Company, et al., Index No.: 51140/2016 (New York Supreme Court, Westchester County).
Attorney Davolos commenced dryer fire product liability, subrogation suit against national manufacturer. Damages exceeded $3.4 million. Attorney Davolos advanced a complex and technical design defect theory that positioned the matter for a favorable resolution.
– Cascades Tissue Group Pennsylvania, et al. v. Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad Company, Dkt. No.: 2018-CV- 3021 (Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, 45th Judicial District, Lackawanna County).
Attorney Davolos conducted a successful emergency hearing and bench trial on behalf of plaintiff/multi-national paper manufacturer. Attorney Davolos secured an injunction that prevented the forced closure of $30 million papermill on the Susquehanna River in Lackawanna County. This heavily litigated matter prevented a legacy railroad company from closing a railroad crossing that served as the only land-based means of access to the papermill plant. The litigation involved the Pennsylvania Railroad Act of 1849, common law easements, federal preemption, and expert intensive proofs at trial.
– United States ex rel. Patel v. The Fid. Deposit & Disc. Bank, et al., No.: 3:19-CV-1824 (United States District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania).
Attorney Davolos successfully defended and obtained the dismissal of all claims against defendant/regional financial institution in a Qui Tam Action brought under the Federal False Claims Act. Attorney Davolos’s client was fully vindicated, and all claims were dismissed.
– Gillespie, et al. v. Dring, et al., No.: 3:15-CV-0950 (United States District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania).
Attorney Davolos prevailed on behalf of defendants in a heavily litigated land use and property rights matter involving claims for breach of contract, prescriptive easements (adverse possession) and related property rights issues. Attorney Davolos successfully defended claims against his clients and procured/protected over $250,000.00 attorney’s fee award based on contractual fee shifting.
