Civil Rights

Protecting your constitutional rights.

Attorney Davolos started his career with a series of civil rights matters that in some senses expanded the nature and types of civil rights claims that were actionable for individuals and businesses. Many people feel aggrieved by the government and there is a difference between a grievance and a viable claim against the government and/or government actors, such as police and other municipal authorities. At DLG we will look at all the facts and circumstances surrounding your potential case and provide you with a detailed assessment of whether the matter is worth pursuing. We will not take all cases, this is a highly selective practice area. However, once we take your case, we will work tirelessly for you in pursuit of protecting your rights and recovering on your behalf.

In some civil rights or constitutional cases, where we prevail, the other side must pay your attorney’s fees. Not ever government or police interaction is positive, but likewise not every police or government interaction can support a civil rights claim. We will take the time to understand your claim, and advise you promptly whether we can or are willing to take the case. Also, please note that in many cases there is a limited window to act on your claim, because government entities or employees may be entitled to a special notice within a short period of time after your potential claim accrues. If this notice of tort claim is not provided on a timely basis you may be forever barred from bringing your claim, even if it is otherwise viable. So contact us today to see if your case is one that we will be able to handle.

We would love to hear from you.
